Start your thought leadership journey with these three tips

By BBS Notary Services  Published On July 24, 2025

In real estate, who you work with matters, but how you stand out matters even more. Sure, good past work and a robust referral network are two solid ways, but here’s another method you can use to establish yourself as an industry leader to those who haven’t yet worked with you or your team.

Yes, we’re talking about thought leadership. What’s that? It’s a fancy way to say sharing your expertise on social media to inform others. But how do you do that? We’re glad you asked. Here are three tips to climb the thought leadership ladder.

Share your story and expertise. To stand out in real estate, especially digitally, you must offer insights others aren’t sharing. Stay ahead of market trends, local data and client pain points. When you bring a fresh perspective or creative solution to the table, share it. Use blogs, social posts or videos to educate and inspire your audience.

Be authentic. People connect with content that’s real. Find out what your clients and partners respond to best. Try quick videos, local updates or behind-the-scenes tips. Stay active in your community, online and offline, and be open to feedback. It builds trust and helps you improve.

Stay consistent. Like any marketing effort, becoming a respected real estate voice online is a slow burn. Keep showing up with helpful, relevant content, and don’t get discouraged by individual post engagement. Talk about the market, give advice for buyers and sellers and share what you’re learning. A steady presence reminds people why they trust you and keeps you at the forefront of their minds.

Where should you aim to be a thought leader? Any place where meaningful conversations about your real estate niche are happening. While that could be anywhere, LinkedIn is a great place to start for most of us.

While you’re browsing that platform, be sure to follow BBS Notary and our founder, Jessie Bullis. We can’t wait to engage with all your great content. Plus, we love posting our own content there to help convince you that we are the top choice for all your mobile notary needs!
